WIRELESS TROUBLESHOOTING BASICS

Below are some quick and easy steps to troubleshoot your wireless connection should you encounter a problem. Of course, always feel free to contact mc.net technical support at any time. We are available 7 days a week.

1. RESET THE EQUIPMENT: Unplug the subscriber module from the dongle (to radio) and wait 10 seconds and plug it back in. Unplug the router from its power source wait 30 seconds and plug it back in, then reboot your computer.

2. PLUGGED IN: Ensure all cables are plugged into the proper ports. The dongle should be plugged into the WAN/Internet port on your router or your Ethernet Card in your computer.

3. NEW HARDWARE: Did you get a new computer, router, or ethernet card? For security purposes new hardware must be registered with mc.net. Please call mc.net so we can register your new hardware with our system.

4. WORKERS & INCLIMENT WEATHER: Many times roofers, HVAC techs, or siding installers will move the antenna or break cabling without your knowledge. Also, while antennas and dishes are locked down as much as possible, high winds may move the equipment out of alignment.

5. SOFTWARE & VIRUSES: Have you installed a firewall on your computer? Temporarily disable your firewall software and see if you can surf the web or get e-mail. Furthermore, viruses and spyware may also cause an interruption in service. Please scan your computer thoroughly with up to date anti-virus and at least two up to date anti-spyware programs.
